Nice idea. The old timers did that long exposure thing to get pictures of the Eifel Tower with no one around it. Comments, Questions, Observations Welcome

Alpha, I like the comment of the "little too warm". I tried out the less warm and it looks a little better. Alan, there were tons of people. I used two .9 ND filters plus an f/11 to shoot at around 30 seconds. The people just disappear that way. . I was there over Memorial Day weekend and I thought the walkway lights changed colors and the neon tubes would do a "wave" on and off. So I had a real confusing time trying to figure out how you got the shot, since I thought the colors would get all mixed. But now that I think about it, the side walls don't actually shift colors IIRC, or if they do, they do very very slowly. And the neon tubes obviously cannot shift colors--they are just different colors as you move along the walkway. So yes, it is a long exposure shot. Nicely done! 5DmkII :: EF 24-105/4L IS :: EF 85/1.8 :: EF 70-200/2.8L IS :: EF 100/2.8L IS macro (coming soon!)

Aug 03, 2009 13:56 | #13 Thanks again everyone for the comments! I think I'm going to go back and reshoot the shot though. I needed to get an exposure longer than 30 seconds in order to get rid of all the ghosting left behind by the people. For some reason I couldn't find the bulb setting on my camera at the time (I was rushed by my flight leaving). So, back to the drawing board. Going to take it again before my next trip in September.
