Thanks for all the nice comments.
All I used was the "darken highlights" and "lighten shadows" in photoshop due to the harsh lighting. Sometimes overdoing "Lighten shadows" or "darken highlights" makes a halo around the subject. What I did took about 10 seconds to crop, and adjust lighting, and resize.

Yes, shadow Highlight tool is known to leave that halo when pushed too far. I think you can help reduce it by playing with Radius sliders,..but not always.
