Mr. Green Jeans passed away just a few years ago.

Hmmmm. I wonder what he was wearing.

Funny. The only 'kids' show I can remember from my childhood is Howdy Doody. I always thought the Indian princess was pretty cute.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

One of the galleries we went to Saturday, LINK (external link), brought out a lot of vintage prints of Wayne Miller's. The gentleman presenting them had a real enthusiasm telling the stories Wayne had told the gallery. There is a definite difference between the vintage prints, with silver and later prints. Not sure I can say which I really liked better, but what a difference in price.

Here are 2 shots I really liked. LINK 1 (external link) and LINK 2 (external link).

PERMIE I did try one Starbucks they didn't have any nor the other coffee shops I've tried. Need to go into the subburbs and find a kitchen retailer, maybe.

yeah a kitchen store would have one

I was think about her a bit ago when walking Bax and was wondering how long before she can leave the yard?

not sure. 4 more weeks I think. She's got her first lepto shot now...and I think it's 20 weeks when they are okay to go out. She's 16.

PERMIE sorry about the contest. I agree some do look heavily PP. Do you know if photographers do the judging or do the tulip company owners?

dunno. :( thanks.

Lisa sorry your contest was judged by clueless people.

But I have an 8 year old.
I have to remind her to never click on anything that comes up that is not From NickJr.com or Barbie.com or what ever IE loving kid site she may be on. So I spend lots of time running around clicking annoyances every time she accidentally closes out IE.

I just looked on my computer in IE8 and I don't have Bing installed at all. Have you tried a reinstall of IE8?

Funny anecdote of the day:
Christopher has a "Pizza Elmo" he holds a pizza, and dances and sings. It was time for dinner, and Christopher was carrying around this toy. I told him to put Elmo down, that he couldn't have it at the table. So, he places Elmo in his time-out corner, facing the corner, just as we would do him when he's in time out.

I ask him, "Is Elmo in time-out?"

"Yeah"

"Why is Elmo in time out?"

"He hit"

..... You see, Christopher's number one offense is hitting when he's not getting his way, so we put him in time out for that. I think he's getting the point

 Wait till he puts you in time out.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. It used to block the entire right hand bar on Facebook, and now its allowing all sorts of stupid ads to pop up. I'm really, really irritated. So, to fix it, lol, I started updating my status from my phone occasionally. LOL! I'm a dork, I know....

I don't think many of the things on Facebook will work right if you don't have certain things allowed with the NoScript add-on. At least that is what the wife says when using Firefox, have to allow 2 or 3 things for it to work.

OK, there has to be a connection here. The Tappan name has been prominent in New England history since the founding of the United States. My family is originally from Boston—Cambridge, to be precise—and the Tappan name has been part of our family for four generations. My Great Grandmother was Mary Tappan Wright, my Grandfather was Austin Tappan Wright, I have an Uncle named Benjamin Tappan Wright, a cousin Tappan Wright King and I am John Tappan Wright.

I'm willing to guess that if I did more reseach, I could trace back a link to Old Tappan, NJ.

Nice bit of history there John.

The little robin fledgling in our front yard died last night. I think it was deformed and mother nature was being kind. It was interesting, though, to see the parents constantly bringing it food.

Aw so sad.

I have been looking for something to get involved with for a long time. We'll see how it goes. I tried last year to do stuff for the Special Olympics but never got a call back. Maybe I'm on a list or something.

I've done the Special Olympics help one year. I helped the athletes off the plane when they arrived at the airport, on and off transportation and then throughout the events.

A great restful weekend was had. Good people, food, drinks, swimming and sports. We did have one wicked storm that blew in at 1AM this morning. Tons of marble sized hail that tore many small branches and leaves from trees and made a terrible noise on our fiberglass drum (trailer). About 2" of precipitation in 30 minutes. The lightning was almost constant right overhead for a while, and you could hardly hear it for the noise of the rain and hail in the trees, and on the trailer. We all survived it well. A couple of the younger kids (13 yo) slept right through the racket in a tent.

Any lightning shots from your great weekend?

Chet wrote in post #8393193 (external link)
Yes that's the boss. Company is small 7 employees. She was always running around doing something and was very active. Not a smoker or a drinker, and like the rest of us a could stand to drop 30 pounds.

I could stand to lose almost 40 to 50 pounds....what I really need to do is start exercising again. I've cut back on over indulging on food and could eat healthier, but really exercise is what I need to start with.

You know, I kind of wish wish I did,... :(

I need to contact Bill Thomas, the guy in this article;
http://www.americanprofile.com/article/19758.html (external link)

He was the family friend that got me in,. the one he describes in the article is not the one I was in, but very similar,.
Instead of a yellow slicker in the Pac NW forest, I was wearing a cable knit Irish sweater on the fishing docks of a NE sea town..

Maybe I need to add this to my "Hair Fan Club" lol!

Apparently the tulip festival judges are afraid that such an overload of awesomeness and beauty might be so overwhelming to the average viewer that to play it safe they decided to pick less stunning images.:-|
