We go through quite a bit of special food for the cat. It's for overweight kitties, and is only available from the vet. Last time I was in there buying it, the snotty little girl behind the counter made a comment about buying so much of it.
I told her it goes fast because we're all eating it. Apparently I said it with a straight enough face that she believed me. She didn't say anything else after that.

I promised to post a pic of my macro setup. Well this morning I was just playing around and took some flower pics. Nothing special, more of an experiment. Anyway, I snapped a few pics of the setup.
This is the basic setup. Camera has the MPE-65 at it's full 5x and a full set of Kenko tubes. Not sure what the magnification is but I'm hoping to calculate if from the pictures. I'm guessing about 8x or so.
Here is a a side shot that clearly shows my home brew diffusers. I've been meaning to pick up something a bit more professional looking but dang these work just fine and are dirt cheap.
So here is the first pic. It's at 1x with no tubes. Not much processing on this one, just a bit of exposure adjustment, sharpened a little, and adjusted the curves to bump the contrast a bit. No stacking or anything else.
This is zoomed to 5X. Again, very little processing.
And at 5X with the Kenko tubes as well. This one really needed to be stacked because even at f/16 the DOF is maybe a tenth of a mm. Not sure how big those polled grains are, but they are pretty small. The whole anther is about the size of a small grain of rice

YIKES!!! I would have been pressing so hard on that brake pedal that I would have probably bent it.
You and me both! I'd have needed a clean pair of britches, too.

The best place I ever saw the stars though was in India...back in the days when my parents would go for a trip and lug my brother and I over, we used to stay in their "home" towns, where the electricity was "switched off" after 9pm...all the houses had a flat roof, so you climbed up the stairs, sat outside to have some tea / drinks by candle light, and with absolutely no light pollution for the next 34587345893 miles, you could see everything....
That kind of sounds like a cool place to be.....maybe. At least the "no light pollution for the next xxxxx miles" part!

What is it with the Brits and the condescending approach to women? "woman driver stalls car...." If it was a man it would say "poor driver", or "a man stalled car.." not "male driver". That would so not fly in this country.
We all know women are over emotional, non drivers but to put it in print, come on. Okay I was serious to start, the last line I was just poking fun
WGG! I mean, GO ZANE! lol!

Congrats, I hope she's the first of many!
Thanks Sid, me too! Still get a bad case of nerves before every session, but.....
That...
And that, and to a very attractive woman, might add!

oh my gosh...I've just never had such an influx in my pm box. I got 125 pm's today after the stuff was listed. I think I've got it all sorted now. Some of the stuff has already sold, some is on hold with waiting lists and some has had some inquiries. So it's looking good..if we get this all sold we'll be able to cover the operation in full. Which is what we needed to do.
Holy moo, congrats on selling what you needed to.

Leyla cam home with ticks, again Actually we have both done this. Occasionally you get into ticks in the nymph or larva stage, by the thousands She only had twenty or so but i have had 400 give or take a thousand. They are literally half the size of the period on your keyboard. They are easy to find on her but
I am woolly. i was like screw this and just got in a mixture of dog tick dip. The kind that says don't use on people. It worked.
I have one caged an have the 100 macro on. Back at some point with tiny tick pics.
TMI!!!!!!!

Tevin experienced his very first dog fight tonight. He did pretty well, considering.
I'm so glad that Josh was here... he helped Wade get Layla and Cosmo apart while I grabbed Amikah and Ginger and got them into the bedroom. (Anni was hiding somewhere).
Apparently, Layla does not like to share meal time. Cosmo did his best to defend himself, but they were locked together pretty tightly.
Unbelievably, there was very little blood. And it was over in seconds. But wow was it intense. I'm thinking this will not be our last, but I'd like to avoid them in the future. Not fun.
Cosmo is no worse for the wear, and Layla gets to spend the evening wearing a
muzzle
. She can eat, drink, and bark with it on, but she can't bite.
Ack, glad all is well now.

We know about that one...
"Only dog" is lying on the floor behind my chair right now. I have to be careful not to roll back or I'll run right over his feet or nose.
Yep, my "only pet" is currently laying on the floor next to the couch....ready to bolt at the first sign of movement toward her food dish, lol!
Ok, caught up a little more quickly than anticipated, all while I waited for a lightroom export. I'm *almost* caught up on processing when I get this guy finished....and then can really brainstorm next week's session.
Off for the night, in an attempt to sleep. Hope those of you attempting the same get to sleep well!
