It's not Yiddish, it's Japanese from "skoshi," meaning a small amount. It was brought into the US by servicemen who served in the far east, particularly during the occupation after WWII. I first heard it as an adolescent living in Japan in 1958 and then again when I went on my first WESPAC deployment in 1967.

Ever have one of those totally embarrassing "Ah-Ha" moments? Well, embarrassing may be a bit too strong, but Doh!! definitely. I just had one.

Yep, and this very one a few months back. It is great when skimming through after being gone to help catch up in this thread.:D

Beautiful location & every time I see Teresa, I'm just struck by how naturally beautiful she is.

Have to agree with Lisa here Neil. And add that she has an inner beauty that shines through, I really hope to get to meet her someday, you too.

I was looking for a song I heard (Welcome Home) and finally found it under "Yusuf, the artist known as Cat Stevens"

Shouldn't that be "formally known as"?

Beautiful, Lisa. BTW how did it go with the wicked wedding planner of the west?

Love it, though I'm "sucky". I like how some of the wings kept twitching after being smooshed a skosh.

THESE TWO appear to be about the same age as Bax and seem to have the same deep chest and angle, but; they are fuzzier than Bax is. He is very smooth.

really well. Really. She was so stern at the practice but we got along very well at the wedding. It was the best wedding I'd ever shot. People were on time for their photos, we got our breaks (that we always ask for but never have time for). It was great.

You never cease to amaze me... I'm glad you are reconsidering getting out of the wedding business.

Thanks John. :) I'm calling it a sabbatical and we'll just see. I need to rid myself of some stress before I tackle any more.

We went to the park for lunch, I seem to keep underexposing images, I think I need to reset it to factory cause I did something to a custom setting :o:o

I bumped the exposures in post...

Crissa, when I was shooting canon, I almost always had my exposure comp at + 1/3 or +2/3. I don't know why but my new cameras (30D, 40D, 1dM3) all seemed to underexpose. The ds2 was pretty right on...sometimes I'd bump it but mostly it was good.

I had to be to the St George Shuttle at 8:30 this morning, dressed, pressed and ready to receive the 15 PASSENGER VAN THAT THEY DONATED TO HART! (How awesome is THAT?!).
I was taking the photo that is going in the newspaper. (Now I'm a journalist too, woo hoo!, LOL!).

I took Layla and Cosmo with me because they both had vet appts at 9. So they are in the photo.

That was nice of them!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!

Well, I did skim through all the rest of the pages that I missed in the last few days....didn't quote em all, but I did like the photos....and of course I had to keep up with James Bovine...even if he had me committed :|.
