I find the 5D photos to be richer in color and texture than the 40D and the bokeh to look nicer in general.

I was following the histogram...and they appeared okay on it but didn't once I downloaded them. If the meter is evaluating the whole scene, sometimes you have such extreme brights and darks (as in the park) that it will look okay when it isn't. In a lower contrast scene you'll find that your evaluative meter is more accurate. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS
