*does happy dance*

Corey said I can get the slightly more expensive range with the convection oven. :D

We have a convection feature in our oven. I've never figured out what to do with it. Let me know after you get yours, please.

It's a model, can be of anything really, that is made out of cardstock....heavy weight paper. Thin cardboard......that can be printed from your home printer. There are several free models out there and even more detailed ones for sale. This particular model is selling for $9 a download.

Wow, I'm even more impressed.

<<<<can't even fold tabs right for paper doll clothing, can't even imagine putting together a model like that.

Thanks John. :) I'm calling it a sabbatical and we'll just see. I need to rid myself of some stress before I tackle any more.

Take some time off... I know where there's this really nice B&B and it's not too far from you. There's plenty to do and there are some cool places to shoot around it...

Permagrin wrote in post #8496031 (external link)
Crissa, when I was shooting canon, I almost always had my exposure comp at + 1/3 or +2/3. I don't know why but my new cameras (30D, 40D, 1dM3) all seemed to underexpose. The ds2 was pretty right on...sometimes I'd bump it but mostly it was good.

Maybe it's just my personal preference (a little darker, more contrasty look), but I do just the opposite. I keep my EC at -1/3 to keep from blowing the highlights and get an exposure I like.

Metering mode can effect how the camera reads a particular scene and they can sometimes be fickle. I've had my camera expose two different shots of the same scene completely differently, even though they were taken from the same angle within seconds of each other.

Thanks...some models are very detailed and have a lot of work put into them....me I have not tried them yet. As a matter of fact, this one is my first try at clear windows done by vacuforming them.

If anyone wants to try some card models....can be done with paper too, but is not as sturdy, here is a website from Canon which has various models in different difficulties....under the Paper Craft section.

Okay. I was sorta' right. It is a Neptune, but not a 'standard' version. I'll give myself half credit for that one.

I served some of my reserve time with an ASW squadron out of Willow Grove, PA, and they were flying P2V's then.

This reminds me of that never-ending discussion about 'shooting to the right.' Never understood that, either.

Yes, yes you were Chief :D. Tell you the truth, I knew nothing of this version until building the model and then coming across the VO-67 website...there are photos of SN#131525 mothballed at Davis-Monthan.

Now that's cool Chief...were you flight crew at that time?

My brother in law flew in the P-3 Orion which replaced the P-2....another tid bit I did not know. :D

No. I actually only got to go up once, and that was for just a short hop. I was very happy it wasn't a normal patrol flight....I was in the little seat above the wing root. There's a bubble there for the navigator to do celestial navigation or something, and it was NOT intended as a place for a passenger. Very rough, cramped, and uncomfortable.

P3's came along quite a while after I got out.

And that's the beauty of convection ovens...cooking 2 different things at the same time..or three using all 3 shelves if the stuff is thin.
