Good Day Everyone :D

Thanks. Me too! I get to operate a train and go in a hot air balloon all in one month!

Hey, I've been trying to "curb" some of Maggie's enthusiasm during certain activities lately as it seemed to be escalating. For instance, she was barking her head off at dinner time waiting for me to feed her. I was watching Cesar and he made the comment that his dogs have to "work" for their food. So a couple days ago I started making her sit before I picked up her bowl and again before I gave it to her. She kind of protested the first time. But now all I have to do is say her name or hold up a finger and she sits right down. I still have to work on stay, though. :D

What's funny about her sitting technique is that she is just like a hawk. Her entire behind sits right down really fast - and her head LITERALLY does not move! It's pretty funny to watch. She's doing REALLY well with this.

You are having way too much fun. :D
Wait, is that even possible?

Good work with Maggie.
I have always made my dogs sit and wait for their food until I tell them "OK, eat". For one, it makes them pay respect, which they can do well.

That is so cool! I've been doing something similar with Amikah...
She gets so excited at play time, totally out of control. I've been making her lay down, and not move till I say ok. I've been lengthening the time, and now we are up to about 4 minutes! She lies perfectly still and just stares at me, waiting. I've gotten to where I can finish reading an E-mail while she waits.

But you should see her when I say "Ok". HOLY CRAP. All that energy, bottled up for 4 minutes comes out at once. LOL. It's dangerous.

Good stuff Cat, 'tis the same theory as what Chris is employing. I too always use OK as a prefice to a command they like "OK, go for it" (my command for releasing when at heel), "OK, eat" (obvious), "OK, get in" (the right time to enter the vehicle". OK, come" ( the release for when made to "Stay", and so on. The really perk up when I prefice with "OK", they know something good is coming. :D

speaking of Dan...he's planning a new story arc...I'm so excited about it. Looks like it's going to be as fun as James Bovine.

This will be great, I have always enjoyed these movies, lots. :D

Oh but mud is FUN! Just ask Amikah.

Yes it is. :D

Ergonomic keyboards are frustrating. I have had one for a few months now, and keep hitting CTRL instead of SHIFT because of the curvature. I have always typed proper with all my fingers, and not having to look. This hitting of the CTRL key plus another key when meaning to capitalize has at least taught me lots of shortcut commands. :p

Gram broke her hip today, pretty badly I'm told. She'll have surgery tomorrow sometime, and we'll all go from there. And oddly enough, despite that I was JOKING about it earlier, thank goodness for Life Alert. She had gotten it recently, and it quite literally came in handy.

Sorry to hear this Diane. Prayers are being sent.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. It's time for the balloon festival and my hot air balloon ride on Saturday morning!

You are having a most excellent summer with your adventures T.D. Looking forward to seeing your shots as well as everyone else's hot air captures.

Sounds like we are group training our dogs. Bax is put through similar paces as everyone has described. He catches on well to all of them, except heel, he just has to get ahead and explore.

I know...I just don't know what to do with him other than teach him tricks. His mind is as busy as his body. You know?

You are doing the right thing, Lisa. Just think what Dan would be like if you took away his pencils and paper. They need outlets for their particular energy, running him through his tricks is a good way for him to release his pent up energy. Plus he knows he is pleasing you, and believe it or not, that really is important to him.

Hi, Terri, we miss you too.

G'MAE all. Don't know when I'll get back on. One of Curt's Aunts passed away last week and her service is this evening. Both she and her husband were so welcoming when Curt and I started to date, I loved them both from the start. He passed away several years ago and she never really got through that. She has wanted to go be with him ever since he left, I'm sure she is happy once again.

She was only about 10 feet away standing in the middle of the trail...I only had my little pocket cam with me...can't believe she froze long enough to get the shot....she vaporized about a tenth of a second after this was snapped.

I've come across deer like that but usually the disapear before I get a pic off.

No MMQ. I simply can't keep up, and it's frustrating at times.

Some general impressions:
Wooly Dan....You are having way too much fun on this trip. My jealousy is palpable.
T.D. ......You, too. Both the hot air balloon ride AND running a locomotive are on my 'to do' list. Sadly, I doubt I will ever do either. (Sands in the hourglass, you know.)
Puddles.......I'm looking forward to Indiana Jones. I'm sure the fear of snakes will make it into the strip in some way.
Cat......I'm guessing you're on the road right now. I hope you got some rest before you left. You were pretty chatty last night. Anyway, safe travels.
Zane......Apparently you're in good spirits. Is your back improving at all, or should we be giving the credit to powerful meds? As before, I heard no moaning last night.
Everyone else.....Sorry. I'm doing this from memory. I know I'm leaving important stuff out, but I only have so many functioning memory cells, and I'm saving some of them for important stuff, although I can't remember what.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

*waves back*

18% gray again and raining like crazy. We've had maybe 3 inches in the last two days with more on the way. It's a thin band of rain right over my house. Son at school has non and I'm guessing that Tiff and Chet are on the northern edge and may/may not be getting any either. It's just my house that's getting pounded.
