Every website I go to has the 5D mark II sold out. Anyone know when Canon plans to be getting anymore out? Thanks

They have them in stock at B&H. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …4B003_EOS_5D_Mark_II.html (external link) Amazon has it in stock as well. http://www.amazon.com …TF8&qid=1249323642&sr=8-1 (external link) I'm sure other places have them in stock if you look.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

No one knows, supply comes and goes. Best to just keep an eye on the major retailers like B&H or Adorama and jump on one when they come in.

Keep looking. When Amazon had a 2-4 week wait, my local photo store had them in stock. Got one in 2 hours after I really was ready to buy.

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

Adorama, Abe's of Maine, J&R, and B&H have them in stock right now. I ordered mine last Thursday from Adorama and it came in today.

From my experience the 5D Mark II was the easiest to find in stock. I waited longer for it to get here than I looked for one.

Lenses on the other hand for me have been ridiculous to find. I waited for Newegg to get the 100mm macro in for over 3 months. They never sent me an email that it was in. I still do not have one.

I don't think they were prepared for them to be as instantly popular as they were. When the 5D Classic came out, I get the impression that it was a "sleeper" -- certain photogs got it because it they understood what it offered, but for much of the digital photography community it was something of an expensive oddity/novelty. From what I've seen, it wasn't until the past one to two years that the 5D Classic began taking the form of more of a popular phenomenon -- which fed the groundswell of people anticipating the 5D2. I actually think it took Canon a bit by surprise.

i wonder if canon read these intenret forums..all the forums including dpreview were salivating and foaming at the mouth with nothing but rumour, gossip and speculation in the 4 or 5 months before the camera was launched. also, canon had made really big inroads into the basic entry dslrs like the 300d,350d and 400d who were incredibly desperate to upgrade....to me,this would suggest a demand, not to mention the longer t than usual upgrade ' life' of the 4d.

perhaps not supplying the 5dmkII was down to nothing more than having business execs at canon who know little about markets, trends and forecasting.

I can find MKII bodies but not the 24=105 kit.

I may not be the village idiot, but I'll do until

Same problem I had.

My local guy had one luckily.

My hunch is that they are controlling supply very well letting just enough through :)

I was so lucky, I went into my Best Buy by my house....and at the time one of the only ones in DFW that had them in stock and paid $2699 for it....well, 2 weeks later they had them on sale for $2499 so I got the $200 credit back.....I was so glad I looked back online when I did. They have a policy that if it goes on sale within a month after you buy anything they give you the difference back!!
