and love it. Took the day off from work (luckily I own the place) and went out and shot, right after UPS dropped it off. Very fast, clear LCD, all around nice camera.
Going to shot some water sports with it this weekend.

Dont worry, the 17-55 is a fine lens and has a good resale value. Do not let the next 365 days be a sacrificing one. Correct me if I'm wrong but what I've noticed is that the difference between wide end is much more visible than tele end, meaning, 17-24 is not a lot of diff in number but a LOT of diff in field of view, not so much for 55-70. You can easily step forward for reach but have to step back lots more for a pulled out shot. // visualverve

There're times where I wanted some motion in my picture while still keeping the surrounding sharp and the only way to achieve that is to use low-speed. IS helped me to take care of the rest...
