i got excited when viewing this on the camera lcd, but something about the full-size image just doesn't seem to do it for me. what are your thoughts? black space was cropped from each side of the frame.

i guess i'll add a bit of context - this was a shot of the balcony from below during a rock concert held in a church. any comments appreciated, thanks.

For me the horizontal and vertical shadows kill the picture. Were they not there then I'd say you really have something. Even still I like it in an odd way.

yeah, i was just looking at that this second. the horizontal shadow was a bar running across the room for structural reasons, but i don't know what is causing that vertical shadow. as for framing, there was nothing much else i could do. i was stuck in my pew with my 85mm. vertical framing chopped off the sides, although in retrospect that might have worked better.

actually, i think that vertical shadow must have been some sort of brace placed on the outside of the window.

i bet a photoshop wiz could remove them. :D any takers?
