i am looking at doing some portraits at home of kids found this on ebay is it worth giving it a go ?

I would say No but I am sure that as soon as I do there is going to be someone that will say yes and praise all about it.

NO Ebay Kits. Why? color Temperature, Consistency in firing, Power, repairs modifiers etc etc.

So better save some amount and Get Either Genesis, Alien Bees or My Personal Fav. Elinchrom.

Those kits often overrate their power, have pretty poor build quality, and none of the components work with anything else should you ever decide to buy better quality lights. If you get this and never want to do more, it might work in a limited fashion. But dont expect that you can use it as a start toward something bigger. In that case its just spent money.
