This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 72hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #207".

This is all about having fun so have at it!!!

This game will end Friday August 7th at 7:30AM EST

When I first saw this photo, immediately thought of a painting.
But then I thought, that would be to easy and to "cheap" so I did the next thing in Photoshop:

Contrast 100%.
Saturation 90%.
Filter Dark Stroke.

I saved it as a different file and opened the original again:
Contrast 100%
Saturation 90%

Cut out the ship and put it in the "draw ed version" and made some tweaks with the eraser and made a border of 5 pixels:

I hate this part... Very quickly as I need to get back to work.

Lore -- colors are spot on and the sky looks great!

masterwilliams -- cool idea - I think it's just a tad to much saturation for my tastes

NigelD - nice edit - I like it a lot but feel it's just too blue

starrynight - nice job - I like the old photo feel!

Again great job everybody -- Winner is Lore - Congrats!

:D Thank You!

Great Edits everyone!

LOL! ;) Loretastic... thats awesome... much more positive than when we play hearts with our friends... & one of our friends with out fail I'd always discard to him the exact same suit he was discarding to me... so when other people ended up doing that to him too or other people ended up doing that to eachother on an off chance... it ended up being coined " Got Louri'd " ( Lore... short for Louri... me )

SO... to be so Loretastic... I decided this round instead of rifling through my photos I'd actually DO a photo specifically for B&A, we've done many different kinds of edits, one section of our forum that I do not think we've hit is "Kids & Family" So I took one of my 5 year old sons and did a quick shoot with him :D

It'll be up in a few... lets see if I can get this one up this time without making an extra 'mess up thread' like I have the past few times

.... uhm... LONGEST winners acceptance speech EVER... ;)

208 is UP I really look forward to these edits! https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=734852
