Wow! What an awesome opportunity! #2 is my favorite - how nice and clear. Wish I was closer to that area. I've been seeing some great Black Bear and trophy Whitetail buck photos from the Smokies lately.

Hope you don't mind, but I did some modification to the levels. Thought you may like this version:

Lovely shots ... 2 and 3 are great. We're not used to wildlife like this in the U.K. ... the most we're likely to encounter is a slightly irritated squirrel ... which makes me ask ... isn't there a watchful and dangerous Mummy bear around somewhere while you're taking these shots.

Was mama bear close by? 35 years ago we used to see cubs a lot in the park, but today it is really a rarity.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

Those were taken with a 40D and 70-200 2.8 out my car window. The mama bear was alongside the road with four cubs in the edge of the woods maybe 40-50 feet away at the closest.

We came up on them with no one else around and just sat there and took the photos. They didn't even pay any attention to us. They just sauntered along the edge of the woods looking for food and playing until finally heading back into the woods. A very fortunate encounter.....

No, I don't mind. Looks good. I just didn't take the time to do a lot of processing on them.

Thanks

I love 2 & 3! Number 3 reminds me of those witches they sell at Halloween that look they've flown into a tree! lol! So cute!
