I photographed a sister and brother this weekend for their senior pics... Working with OCF with mixed results. I'm a little frustrated with some focus issues eventhough I was using a tripod. Some were tack sharp and others not so sharp. I must being doing something wrong with the focus and than recompose. I focus on the eyes while holding the shutter half way down and recompose the shot. I used center focus most of the time. Any suggestions on how to do it better would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can't see anything but "content protected by owner" -- and that looks good.

I think I have the setting corrected now for the website.

Love #2. Would also like #5 as much but don't care for the contrast between highlights and shadows.

The tripod will help with reducing blur (due to inadvertent motion), but will not help with focus problems. If you are shooting pretty large apertures (I can't tell, there's no EXIF information), the problem likely lies with your shooting technique. As I've learned the hard way, for portraiture with shallow DOF, do not depend on the focus/recompose/shoot technique, you will just get frustrated. Instead learn to use the outer focus points -- it's not that hard once you get used to it and will give you a much higher keeper rate.

I like the concept of #3, except I would have changed her pose slightly to slim her down a littlebit.
Also, the wild colored top seems to distract a bit. #5, #6 and #8 draw more attention to the senior instead of her shirt.
Overall pretty good :) With a littlebit of PP, #5 would be the one to frame IMHO.
