I would appreciate any recommendation on fairly inexpensive light stands. I'm mainly looking for ones with arms sticking out (horizontal or adjustable) that can hold a medium softbox and lights.

Aug 05, 2009 18:28 | #3 yes, that's it. I found some on B&H but most only hold 1~2 lbs. The ones that holds 3~5lb costs half a grand, which is too much for me. Any good suggestions? gonzogolf wrote in post #8406196 like a boom attachment? 5D, 50mm F1.4, Sigma 24-70, EF 70-200mm F2.8 IS

The heavier the load the more you will pay for an appropriate light stand and boom arm. It's generally a good idea to get something that can hold a little more than what you need, just to be on the safe side. Don't forget the sand bags.

How far does the boom need to extend? The more info you give on what you actually want, the better. Gotta give information if you want to receive. Architecture
