Ok, forgive my ignorance, but I am trying to make sense of dof and back/front focus.
*Theoretical situation* Assume the lens back focuses by 4mm at 6ft at 200mm f4(I know about the MFD, but lets just assume its a perfect world and I know its 4mm). If I focus on a subject at a distance, say 60 feet is it possible for the back focus to be amplified even further backwards?
I understand the dof on my crop camera at 6ft would only be a total of a half an inch. At 60 feet, 200mm f4, the dof would be 4.13ft but dofmaster.com says the dof is split up by 1.99ft(48%) in front and 2.14ft(52%) in the rear.
I am confused, how does the dof skew towards the back? or does it?
Basically, how does 4mm back focus at 6ft translate to the back focus at 60 feet?
Again, I apologize if this is the dumbest question ever.
