Ok I've looked all over the place and I haven't been able to find something that will properly hold my Canon 580 EX II Flash off camera. I don't need an off camera able as I will be firing the flash via wireless.

What I am looking for is what I've heard referred to as a Flash Holder or maybe even a "Cold Shoe".

I have two small Manfrotto "Nano" Stands #3373 and need the adapter to go on the top of it to hold the flash.

I'm sure this is simple as can be I just can't seem to find a good quality one.

Any suggestions with links would be greatly appreciated.

If you need the swivel brackets that hold umbrellas also, click here (external link).
If you just need to simply mount it, use the mini stand that came with the flash.

Thanks - Do you own one of these personally? I don't personally own them as of yet but I have tried them and it doesn't seem like the flash sits in them securely.

I should have mentioned this in my original post

It makes me really nervous putting my $350+ Flash on something that doesn't seem to hold it well.

funhouse69,

Umbrellas adapter like

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …vel_Umbrella_Adapter.html (external link)

is needed if you need to tilt up/down the flash. It is solid piece of gear. If you just need to put your flash on light stand then you can use the flash stand that camer with your 580 ex. Otherwise you would need a hot shoe adpater like

I own the Impact swivel brackets, but I don't use the included metal cold shoe - it can short out your flash. I just screw the mini stand that came with the flash onto the stud insert that comes with the bracket. In my opinion, it holds the flash more securely with the added benefit of it not being metal.

i have a couple of the impact umbrella holders and use one with a 550ex all the time. i took the small metal shoe mount off though and replaced it with a pc->hotshoe adapter from flashzebra to use a set of cybersyncs with it.

At strobist they recommend putting electricians tape to prevent the possibility of shorting out the flash.

I did the exact same thing to my two impact holders, and they have been working great for almost a year now.

+1 - I just use the umbrella swivels from flashzebra.
