I have been to Yokosuka with the 7th fleet back in 93-94. I was on the Independence CV-62.

My father was on the Independence during that time frame also. He went to Hawaii with it when it was replaced by the Midway, small world!

Nice shots. I lived in Yokosuka '79-'81, '83-86 & '88-'91. I live about two hours from Yokosuka now, anf go there maybe twice a month. My son was born there, on base.
Lots of history. My daughter lives in Yokosuka now. Small world indeed.
Great pictures.

Holly great! In my city, due to historical reason, we have no Navy or Air Force. Independence CV-62 was a great carrier. I remember I even had its 1:700 model when I was young. So when I had a trip to Yokosuka Naval port. I was so exciting to film these battleships. They are very new to me in my life! (I never getting so close to the battleship before!), US Citizen are lucky, they can even work on the ships! While we can only try to understand these ships thru National Geography Channel! haha.....:lol:
