Marketplace Brand Rules?

I am not trying to be the police or anything, but I found something off when I was reading the rules.

In the rules it states:

"Direct selling of any product and/or service on the Forums, in any other area than Marketplace Section, is strictly prohibited and the rules enforced. In Marketplace Section forum members can sell merchandise or services related to Canon cameras and accessories. You agree to Marketplace Rules when posting and replying there."

So, I thought only Canon stuff was allowed in there. Then I looked at the Marketplace Rules:

"Posts in this forum should only be for sale or trade of photography-related equipment and services.

...Members can advertise here only merchandise or services related to Photography...."


Please don't take this negative I am posting simply out of curiosity. Can people sell their Nikon stuff here, too? Or only Canon?

Any photo-related stuff within reason. Cameras, lenses, but no matter how much you may claim to be able to do with a PlayStation or an iPhone those won't fly.

The rule you quoted was written in 2004 and was superseded by the rule in the MarketPlace Rules(line four)

The Canon requirement was dropped as POTN has expanded the scope of it's membership.
