I was shooting at Barton Springs last night and some guy asked 'what are you shooting' i replied nothing in particular just whatever, he told me he and his friends had just built some rock towers and i should check em out. I walked downstream expecting a pile of rocks and found a entire city of these crazy rock towers! I came back in the morning and took over 700 pictures, and saw two of the towers topple :( I'm surprised they didnt glue them, i touched one and it was not glued! I didnt touch any of the ones that fell though heh.

more pics at the flickr

Wow, those are really neat! I love that they are just balanced there. Some of those rocks are quite large though so it seems like it could be hazardous to a passerby if they didn't know they weren't stuck on rods or whatever...usually when you see stuff like that they have drilled them through and stuck rebar in between.

oh totally because when i see rocks stacked i usually assume rods are stuck through them and like to lean on them.
