..I have 3 canon bodies.
My 300D takes the BP-511
The 40D & the 5D takes BP-511A.
Is it safe to use the BP-511 on my 40D & 5D???
Are both batteries the same?
Thanks
Mike

Lyndön Goldmember More info | Aug 08, 2009 19:32 | #7 I doubt that Canon would make an incompatible battery in the same shape as an already manufactured one. They usually try to idiot-proof their devices as much as possible by making batteries and attachments in different shapes, sizes, etc.

Capacity isn't quite the same, but it works, as does charging the batteries. Canon EOS Rebel T2i, 17-40mmL, Canon 50/1.4, Canon 100/2.8 macro, Tokina 12-24/4 (FS), 550EX... etc... (GEAR LIST)
