Hi Guys,

Just picked up the Tokina 12-24 f4, awesome lens, really happy with it.

Anyways, as I do with all my lenses, im looking to get a filter. In particular, a Circular Polarizing Filter. I just have a few questions regarding filters specifically for this lens.

Firstly, I've heard there have been quite a few problems with filters on this lens, such as Vignetting, and the polarizer not effecting the whole photo, only certain parts.

Should I still get one because of this, and is there any truth to this?

Secondly;

If I should get one, what type? Previously I've had just your regular old Mid-Range Hoya, but I havent been totally happy with them at all, unhappy infact. I've seen, and been interested, in the Hoya HD range, but not sure if its the best for the lens, or if its even worth it for my lens.

Thanks,

Congrats on the lens.
It is a nice lens.
I have one and find that you do get vignetting when a filter is installed.
Im thinking because it is so wide that it is actually picking up the black edge of the filter.
I have read that there are extra thin glass filters that solve this problem, howver i have not tried them.
Makes sence though.

Have Fun
