That is up close and personal, must be a risk of him huffing on the lens for a soft focus effect :D

That's it exactly! I know it's quite close, I was just trying to see how magnified I could get while being hand held. I agree that this close was not as sharp as I should have gotten...

Great close up! Pretty sharp for how shallow the DOF must have been. What was your setup for this shot?
