Well, but we know that it is common wisdom that to be a better photographer you have to shoot a lot with film and use an MF prime...that's the only way you can learn to be "good" -- I mean, come on, this is a no brainer...'course the people who claim this are pretty much in the walker stage, but still...:):):)!

No, just living proof that the bell curve exists, and that there truly is someone out there for everyone.

You do have good looking kids. Thankfully, they all take after their mother.

Hey, I look at us agreeing as something that is bound to happen, albeit quite rarely.

After all, even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.

I work in a camera shop so I get to hear plenty of funny requests. Like today a man asking for a 'good lens' for his £100 fuji compact camera.

A month ago a dolt was complaining about us bird photogs forsaking Jesus Christ because we bought better gear than he has and take more photos of birds than he has.

im gunna take a page from my gf's book. she was at our work and a guy who was new started talking to her. apparently they got to talking about what she was going to school for (which was commercial photography) and he said "what can you do with photography." Come to find out he is a manager at a restaurant. so i really wondered the same question in my mind towards him and his profession.

From a person who has a degree in photography, and yes it was a recent degree

"I don't shoot in RAW because my customer's can't view RAW anyways"

Hmmm...
I don't shoot in RAW because Ken Rockwell doesn't. He said it isn't necessary, so that pretty much is the truth. I also saw comparison material, and to be honest, I really don't need it...

I don't know if you are serious or are being sarcastic, but at least for high-ISO shots, I find the texture of Canon JPEGs to look very artificial (especially at the pixel level), even if WB and tone curves are good in the JPEG.

That does not count. That is, it is off topic. Clear?

Well, if we're going to be titularly restrictive, the silliest thing that I've heard someone say about photography is...

...anything said by dear old Ken! The man is a veritable fountain of guffaw-inspiring comments!
