I have OSX ver. 10.5.8 and preview ver. 4.2
How do I get preview to work with my RAW files from my 5D II?
Thanks in advance!

You need to use canon's zoom browser/dpp or a third party alternative. I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

If you like to look at prints from about two inches away, the larger sRaw (11mp) should be enough for between 8x12 and 12x18, and the smaller raw (6mp) should be fine for between 4x6 and 8x12. You can easily print bigger if you don't expect to view it from that close. I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. They're both the same file type? in terms of opening the files anyway... Is it a weird Mac thing? A bunch of Canon bits and pieces.

Theres lots of things I"ve noticed that are different now that we have our 5DII.. It's a Canon thing. Apple has to reverse engineer to decode the data as I think that Canon does not release the format due to intellectual property issues. Bill

Here Everything should be clear now. ![]() If it's a Canon thing, then Apple would not be the only company producing RAW editors that has issues with sRAW. LR2 has had it for well over a year, Bibble wouldn't have had it for nearly a year and a half, nor would have plenty of others. Apple is dragging their feet, regardless of what Canon is doing to help or not help. This reason alone would be enough to look into LR2 over aperture, since not having sRAW support means that other new features may also never be supported in a timely basis. They also just updated their other pro apps and I'm hoping that Aperture is next. Bill
