United Kingdom - Best canon lens price?

Hello all!

Im in the market for a new lens - i blame POTN users

I was going down the Canon 100-400mm L Route, but now have changed my mind.

Now i would like the canon 70-200mmF/2.8 L IS USM

Can anyone recomend a good place to buy, im not 100% on getting from ebay i would rather support real camera shop!

Ebay isn't such a good place anymore more secondhand equipment. I think UK private sellers are nervous of deals that turn bad. Other sellers are mainly located in Asia. For UK buyers, CameraPriceBuster is a good site to see who is selling what and the price trend of new items. Dealers use it to set prices competititively, but of course, they all can't be the cheapest all of the time, so dealer's positions are constantly changing. You will find good secondhand bodies and lenses at www.mifsuds.co.uk . As well as a shop, they have a very efficient mail order service and they buy or exchange equipment from pros and amateurs every day of the week, so their secondhand stock is always changing. They are a private owned business established in the 50's and all their staff are knowledgable. All secondhand items come with a warranty.
I sold my 100-400mm f/4 L IS to them in exchange for a 400mm L.

I know you said you're leery about eBay, but I''ve bought several high-end lenses from kerso. He's fast, friendly, and reliable. He has a good rep on this site.

These people are worth a try - http://norfolkcamerace​ntre.co.uk/?cat=57 they are a proper little camera shop with staff who know what they're talking about. They are also competitively priced I use them regularly and would highly recommend them.

I would also recommend Kerso. I have used him twice for purchases and been more than pleased. Got my 70-200 f2.8 from him about 4 years ago.

If your after second hand then I have also used http://www.mpbphotogra​phic.co.uk a couple of times. No problems here either. They currently have a 70-200 f2.8 IS for £1,139.00
