Can someone tell me what the insects on the post are?
Edited to add: I should I suppose say that this is Southen UK just over a week ago.

Aug 10, 2009 21:23 | #2 They look like they may be the duns,,,,, shells of something like damsel flies that pupate from their aquatic phase into the adult flying phase.

Seemed far more intrigued by the sound of the camera shutter than anything else, but not bothered because it then flew down onto a gravel beach about 6 ft away from me. Richard
