So to recap:

It's somewhere within the area bounded on the east by the A1, on the north by an E/W line running through Ripon, and on the west and south by lines running N/S and E/W through Harrogate.

Is it in either Ripon or Harrogate, and does it have "church" in the name ?

Recap spot on Sean. Its not in Ripon or Harrogate and doesn't have church in its name. We're getting closer!

That was a lot of hard work, Sean! I went all over the south-west of N-Yorkshire while you were asking questions, but finally found it.... So, if you want to have another guess I can reply on behalf of Nigel.... :)

As far as I am concerned it went overnight.... :) But as I am travelling (and gathering new WAIN's) I have limited access tomorrow - so I will not tell..... :)

I got it after checking out smaller villages South and West of Thirsk - and later within the quadrant as mentioned by Sean. Just checking on Google Earth- very tedious... :)
But this is the one...: the church in Burton Leonard just west of the A1 and halfway between Ripon and Harrogate.

As I am travelling today I have to leave it open.

Well done Henk! I'd skimmed over Burton Leonard, but missed it. Good WAIN Nigel.
