No, I confirmed PA earlier.

So, no.

Yes, and I did say (in the part of my post you snipped out of the quote) that it was MOSTLY a guessing game. You've gotta guess to narrow it down and use logic. I understand that.

And having said that, there are 2-3 clues in the photo that can help you. How is this any different than a cave painting you posted earlier in the game? Or an obscure statue from inside a building?

I'm sorry but I didn't 'snip' anything out of the quote - I quoted it verbatim. Secondly, if you can't see the difference, then it's not worth the energy arguing about it.

Thirdly, don't get so defensive - just enjoy the game like we have been doing for years.

We hope it's a bit more than a guessing game. The best WAINs always involve a bit of detective work, some logic, some intuition and, sometimes, a bit of luck. If were purely a guessing game, I think it would lose its appeal.

My sentiments exactly. When it degenerates to a 20 questions children's game or mostly creative keywords for a Google search I am not interested.

Sorry, I shouldn't have said "snip". I should have chosen another word.

You admitted yourself in the last WAIN that you posted that Google was misleading for your photo... so how did you suggest I find that church? Your last WAIN, ironically enough, DID degenerate into a hunt and peck because it was impossible to find on Google.

Note: If you are using Google, you wil find that the linked photos are often incorrect and mis-lableld

It just seems that some here are unfairly jumping on my WAIN without ever giving it a fair shake. These three search terms, in any order, turns up the lake on page 1 of Google. pa camping lake.

Sorry to inconvenience your game so badly. Have at it. It's Raystown Lake.

I am afraid that I have to agree with Roy on this one. The most recent WAIN lacks a distinctive element (and the crop even more so). Even after it was given away I found it hard to find the photo in Google that showed the camping because the waterline and skyline are so "generic" without any distinctive markings or elements (like the rock formation and the buildings and bridge in the previous WAIN).

Anyway... it is up for grabs now. Who is posting the next WAIN?

Good Morning Henk - and also Good night!

I googled as well and as I said earlier - there wasn't a single "feature" that you could pinpoint as being the actual place for sure - a shame.

I guess this game has evolved from the original rules (which I read and adhered to). You should amend the rules if you want the images to have distinctive markings or have similar photos located in Google.

The important rule I read says, "photos should have a reasonable amount of identifiable content." I thought campers located at the shore of a lake gave a pretty good head start, and by guessing the state the lake shows up in Google just fine.

Again, so sorry for causing such a ruckus in your game. I think you guys are taking this way too seriously and alienating the new guy. Thanks.

I'm sorry but I just don't think that campers parked by a lake comes under the category of 'reasonable amount of identifiable content'.

Sorry but I have to disagree. As campers and tents on a camping tend to vary through time they can only be considered "identifiable content" to mark the site as a camping. Other than the campers the photo did not show any particular features to distinguish it from hundreds of other similar lakeside campsites all around the world.

And it may be recognisable in Google for the OP - having been there and having his/her memory to assist and to know what to look for. But I had to check the legends with the photos before I saw a vague similarity in one.

Don't feel discouraged to participate. This sort of discussion pops up once in a while and helps refine the rules of the game.

I am standing at a ledge looking across the mountain at this majestic view, ok I know the cam sucks but hey this pics over a few years old, WAIN?

Landscape is unique as some parts have glaciers, guess the general area.
