Yeah. He's a photojournlist: integrity matters.

As I read it, ordinary image processing (color correction, levels and curves, minor cropping) is fine, but digital manipulation is not. Compositing, "creative" retouching, and extreme contrast/saturation adjustments fall into this category.

More nature and wildlife photographers are using these techniques to make their pictures more saleable. But it's an aesthetic that leads to a Michael Bay version of reality.

It's not a hate of post processing, it's more relevant to the genre of photography he shoots in. Check out some stuff on rueters to read more about their guidlines for pp
