Civil War in Ohio

These are from the Civil War Reenactment at Hale Farm and Village. Hale Farm is located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was outrageously hot this day. It was tough getting them in character, and without any modern people and stuff in the shots. Enjoy.

Cool shots! I like the pictures where you can see the kids/younger men because those were the ones who ended up fighting that war!

#8 is particularly good! Kind of reminds me of that scene from "Gladiator" when Russell Crowe is putting his hands through the wheat! haha

I love 'em -- #5 is my favorite. Looks authentic. #3 is great, too. I love re-enactments (I was a history major), they have some great ones here in New England. I took photos, but film. I hope to get another chance with my DSLR some day.

I can imagine how hot they must have been -- can you imagine the real soldiers of that time, esp. as most of the battles were fought in the south? HOW could they wear wool? Or during the Revolutionary War, what those poor, British soldiers had to wear. Brutal and cruel in their case. Interesting stuff!
