MiniTT1 and PlusII max sync speed on a 1D body

I needed another PW, so I decided to slide a little further into bed with Pocketwizard .. after all I've spend a couple of thousand with them already.

Anyway, I ordered a miniTT1. My question is what sort of sync rate can you get with the TT1 with the old Plus II's? All of the videos and documents talk about the tt1 and flex5, but not the Plus II's.

The bodies and flashes in question are: 1D Mark IIN, 1Ds Mark II, 580EX II, 430EX II, and 400,800,1600 ABs.

I want to know this too, but with an original 1D.

generally speaking, maximum gain will be different with *each* flash/body combination.

There's no way to know for sure without someone trying that *exact* combo and reporting back for all to see.

Well, I guess I'll let you know. I have a 1D classic too, which can sync at 1/500th on it's own so I'll let you know when it arrives.

Weird, I would have figured there would be a lot of people who have the PlusII's and have added in a Flex or a Mini.

Cool. 1D's sync at 1/800 with normal PW's

I only had a chance to try one combo so far:
- 1Ds Mark II with MiniTT1 -> PWII -> 580EX II syncs at 1/320th (only +1 stop)

more tests to come.

A 1Dino will sync at about any speed, as long as it doesn't know there's a flash attached.
The speed of the trigger will be the limiting factor here.

I've gotten reliable sync up to 1/2500s with a 580EX on hotshoe with all contacts (except the center one ) taped...
