Welcome to the forum.

I guess there's no problem finding trains to photograph in Reno.

Reno is one of my favorite vacation destinations. We get there a couple times a year, and expect to be there for Hot August Nights again this year. We used to get there a lot more often when we lived in the Bay Area, but now have a 10-hour drive each way from where we currently live, and that causes my enthusiasm for the place to wane just a bit

I always manage a visit to Gordon's photo service, but find their prices to be a little unrealistic. They do have some nice folks working there, though. I'd be interested in knowing if you've found another camera store in the area worth visiting.

We have a few train lovers in the forum, and you'll see us all perk up whenever an interesting thrain shot gets posted. I've attempted similar shots, but never with the results you achieved. Good job.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

As far as reno photo stores go, Gordans is the only decent one around. You nailed it right on the head with the nice people/high prices comment though.

I was a railfan before i got into photography, so I always find myself taking photos of trains. Now that I know I'm not the only train nerd here, I'll have to post them from time to time I guess.

Hey...

Is all that construction related to the construction of that big trench they're building to put the train tracks below street level?

Yes, it is. Its getting rather annoying at this point, and we still have something like a year to go on it.
