Close up shots of hood ornaments are really nice, but do make sure they are completely in focus, for instance nr 8, a nice shot, but it would be ten times better if the entire leaping dog (I think) would be in focus.

Any full car shots too ?

Mark

Good ones, & a good question from Mark, too. Your last thread was mostly close-ups, so try to not get into a rut when you're shooting.

#4 would have been nice if you didn't cut off the wheel :(

Thanks for the comments! Yes, I guess I am in a little of a rut shooting these cars. My rationale is that the cars are close together and there are alot of people walking around and most of my car pics tend to be no more than snapshots - here are a few examples:

Here is the dog hood ornament more in focus:

and more of the tire in this shot:

Just trying different things - I guess I like the close detail shots :). I appreciate the comments - much to learn!

Nice set.
I have to agree about cars being close together. If i get there early enough i can get the cars rolling in, otherwise its gonna be detail shots.
Dean:)

I agree. Outdoor car shows are pretty much a crapshoot,& we'll give you some leeway because of the conditions. (Don't expect that if you have the option to move the car, though!) ;) Best results I've had come from waiting 'till late in the show when (hopefully) the lighting is better & some cars have left giving you more room to shoot.
One night, I saw three that I wanted to shoot, talked to the owners for the details, & shot a series. Then I kept an eye on them &, 2 hours later, some cars had left leaving a space next to two of the cars & the light was much better so I reshot them both in about 10 minutes. The difference in the before/after was worth the wait.
