Is anyone aware of any ways to power speedlites that don't involve AAs?

I've searched the forum with no luck. Apologies if this has been answered already.

There is a post on her (maybe search DIY) to make a adapter to plug it into the wall. Basically the proper transformer (down to X.X volts and amps) and some wire and a "blank" battery to go into the speedlight.

Any reason you don't want to use AAs?

Yep, I hate not knowing the level of charge left at any given time, and it's just too much of a hassle. The recycling times are not great either.

Actually recycle times using exnternal pack like cp-e4 are quite good. I would say similar to using quantum turbo. Al Jabocs doesn't allow fast shooting from what I know. So don't discount those rechargable AAs.

I was thinking of going the Quantum Turbo route so hopefully the recycling time will be an added bonus to not having not worry about AAs anymore (at least not as much...).
