You don't really think of reptiles having any warmth, but I just thought this old fella looked like he was enjoying the attention from the kids. He was a tortoise at Grant's Farm in St. Louis.

Aug 12, 2009 21:18 | #3 Thank you! This Aldabra tortoise was wedging itself between some posts, and seemed to really enjoy the attention. I had the chance to touch it, and was pleasantly surprised at how soft the skin on its face was, even down to its beak. I believe that an Aldabra currently holds the world record for oldest living tortoise. Elizabeth

Aug 15, 2009 12:37 | #5 Thanks, MizzGrizz. I was torn between the B&W and the color version. I never could get it to how I liked it as a color image, so I changed it to a monochrome and was very pleased. Still such a neat old fella. Elizabeth

Aug 19, 2009 08:43 | #8 Here is the color version. It actually is quite a crop from the original because I just had my 18-55mm, and there were so many people around that I could not get particularly close. I also had to do some editing, which is evident as well. Elizabeth
