Hi,

Just received my Calumet 200 2 light kit (with umbrellas) and took a quick shot of the misses and daughter. Key light was 45deg at camera right about 4 feet from subjects (triggered by PC cord). Fill light was on camera axis same distance as key light (triggered optically from key). Subjects were about 5 feet from bg (bare drywall) with a 288HV at 1/4 power pointing at the wall (triggered by CTR-301p). Key light was 3 stops higher than fill. I believe it was shot at F/8 (or F/11) at 70-80mm.

thanks for looking/commenting.

Very nice first shot.

Very nice. The only thing I noticed, and its so minor as to be nitpicking so feel free to ignore it. I think I would lighten the wall behind them til it goes to a pure white. It has a tiny bit of cast on it on my monitor anyway. Great start to studio lighting.

Actually I was thinking just a minor post processing fix on the shots you posted. The lighting is nice and even on the background so I wouldnt change things much.

boy, color (WB), focus, exposure all completely nailed. I'm a fan of 'doesn't look flashed' (although you KNOW it IS!) photography. Nice job!

Synergy52, thanks for your comments and yes it was sharpened by PSE 6 (I first brought it in from Camera Raw).
