Can we put an end to this? It's seriously annoying. The reason I buy/sell here is to avoid ebay. Half of the threads where this happens, it isn't even marked, and even if it is marked "FA" it's just cluttering up the forum.

Probably not, because the forums allow it. If people would follow the rules for posting in the marketplace (yeah, right), they would list it as "FA" and not "FS." Until that happens, we will run into the same issue.

As Pekka stated in the sticky in the Sell section, it's mandatory to add "FA" in the title when listing an eBay advert

Pekka wrote:
FS = For Sale
FA = for Auction (it is permissible to advertise your ebay /auctions, but they MUST contain "FA" in the title)
FT = For trade
WTB = Want to buy (when your looking to buy something.)

So, if you see an advert here with an eBay sale that doesn't have FA in the title, feel free to report the thread with the

button and we'll add it.

If it's against the rules to omit "FA" to posts sending one to eBay, mods shouldn't have to charge around adding bits. Just delete it. They'll soon learn ;)

It's less work for us to add the FA: than to write, or answer, PMs about why the thread was deleted.

Why, out of sheer curiosity, do we allow links to ebay ads?

I didn't know about know about the "FA" being required in the title. I don't see anything wrong with linking to E-bay auctions at all...just the other day I put a few links to some camera bags on E-bay. I got a thank you from a member here who won a $60.00 Tamrac bag for $15.00. I got a great deal on some CF cards because a person was nice enough to share a link here with us. I like a good deal, no matter where it is.
