I have a Canon XTi Body with Opteka grip + 4 batteries. The shutter count is around 8k. How much do you think I can sell it for? I am also including wall charger, a lowerpro AW bag, new 50D neck strap, and a wired shutter control. Sorry, this is a not for sale forum. I only want an estimate.

I think $100 would be fair and reasonable.

You can sell it to me if you like.

:D

Kidding, of course (on both counts).

Might help if you give your location. I could estimate Australian dollars...but unsure what it would fetch in the US, UK, Europe, Antarctica....

I am in Canada, and also I am including a 2GB CF card with it. If I can really get 450 for it, then it will be great =D

People might not want all that other stuff. I'd say a good price for the body and lens together would be $350

Unless you are selling it with a kit lens to help guage people's interest, I woun't include all the other stuff as it likely woun't increase the value of the camera.

$350 USD sounds about accurate. probably more in CAD especially if you sell locally. I still think the XTi is a better camera then the Rebel XS so that's what you got to compare to for new cameras.

I just went through selling an XTi in East Canada and agree the DStanic - the extras did not help the sale. I ended up selling them separately. Rather than ask here, would it not be better first to look/post in Used(city).com and craigs list for your city?
I ended up selling the XTi with lens for 500$ in Spring but that is lower now.
Finding an "international" value is more difficult and only need if you are going ebay. If so, look at ebay/google values ($american)....then there are shipping and payment issues.
When you post it, your subject line should be worded better than this one BTW.

How is the XTi better than the XS?

XTI has 9 auto focus points, XS has 7. There are other differences, but that is the one that sticks out in my mind.

If you must know...

-XTi had 9AF points vs 7 on the XS
-XTi can shoot 3ps RAW up to 10shots (according to DPreview) the XS can only do 1.5FPS and only 5 shots. That reason alone I wouldn't want to buy the XS. If you shoot JPG it doesn't matter both camreas are 3fps basically the same.

There are lots of other new tech on the XS that one can make a valid argument that it is a better camera then the XTi, it's all a matter of what you need. IQ will be basically identical. The XS is not realy an "upgrade" to a XTI, it's a "stripped down" version of a XSi. If you are buying a kit in a box, the 18-55IS makes it worthwhile over the XTi with the old 18-55.
