How much demand is there for a shoe mount flash that has 200ws that uses RF to trigger slaves? I would prefer a Canon model as I like the remote manual control for power settings and I like Canon's user interfaces. I don't care how big it is or how many AA batteries it needs (8?) just give me a 580EX II with double the power!

The Elinchrom Quadra looks very nice but that battery you have to lug around does not strike my fancy.

There would be almost no demand for a shoe mount flash with 200 Ws of stored flash energy. It would be huge and likely weight as much as several cameras.

They have not made the Quadra any larger that they had to, since it is a portable unit, so you would be looking at something in that size range on your hotshoe.

The engineers at Canon and Elinchrom (and other flash manufactures) are not stupid and have just somehow overlooked this sort of device.

The 580 EX II does not have 100 Ws of stored energy, I suspect 50 Ws (or so) would be more like it.

Enjoy! Lon

Closest thing out there is the Quantum Qflash.
