The "Small Flash & Studio Lighting", useful as it is, does seem to be mostly gear focused. I know it's in the 'Equipment' group so that makes sense...but it does also say "how to set them up and aim them" in the description. Which made me wonder...wouldn't it be useful to have a specific "Lighting Techniques" type area?

Maybe I've missed the point somewhere along the line in which case I apologize...but an area dedicated to lighting techniques would seem a great idea to me.

We talk about EOS cameras, and the techniques in using them in EOS forum...

It's the same in the Lighting forum, the only reason you see more gear talk than "how to" talk is because that's what the members are talking about.

The Forum to discuss techniques already exists.

We also have the discussion forum for each type of subject matter we have sharing forums for. ie: broken up bey subject matter. these are not likely to then be broken up by type of equipment used, or lighting used on top of that. ..

If you'd like to see more discussion of technique, please go in there and get busy! :)

No, I wasn't thinking of that at all - just a Lighting Techniques vs Lighting Equipment, that's all.

It was just a thought, thanks for taking the time to reply.
