As I've not been posting here for a long time, I thought I'd share some of my favourite landscapes. In this case the Swartberg Pass, a mountain pass in South Africa in the dry arid region of the Little Karoo just north of Oudtshoorn. It was a hot day and we visited the nearby Cango cabes 1st after that we reached the pass which lies at an altitude of 1,583 metres above sea level. This shot looks out towards Prince Albert and the Greater Karoo.

Shot taken with a Canon 40D and 24-105mm f4 @ 24mm, f11, 1/160 s. Three shots stitched together in the merge function in CS4, boosted the saturation, vibrance and clarity.

This was the car we drove up the unsealed road with, luckily the dust was orange too.....

Below you see the Knysna Heads which is the entrance to the Knysna Lagoon, a stunning place with a nice cafe nearby which does great lunches :)

Three shots taken with a Canon 40D and Sigma 10-20 @ 11mm, f9, 1/500s.
Merged in CS4, no other PP done, need to learn how to equalise the images with regards to the slightly different sky/tree colours across the 3 different shots....

All comments/tips welcome :)
Thanks for looking.

For you comment......I learned way back never to shot pano's in auto. Use manual, meter your whole scene and pick ONE average exposure for all the shots. If you let the camera do it you will end up with exposures that don't merge.....I tend to pick to a lower average to keep the sky blue and bring up the shadows in PP.

Thanks Sean, I never shoot green box/auto these days, but that day I left my camera in Av and refocused in between shots if I remember correctly. I guess that was the mistake that caused the difference...

I'll make sure to meter the overall scene and pick the appropriate setting in Manual in the future.
