Just bought a grip for my 50D and looking to buy a couple extra batts and charger for them. Looking at Sterlingtek as everyone seems to think they are great. Only problem is the charger they have looks nothing like my charger that came with the camera, contacts for the battery are in the wrong place? Anyone bought one of these? Is it just that they have the wrong picture posted? Thanks

The Sterlingtek BP511 chargers work just fine. I have 2.

Check for a typo, or call 'em on their toll-free number.

Thanks, will just order the charger and a couple of batts. I just clicked on the "contact email address" on their homepage so shouldn't have been a typo. Maybe their server was down.

You might want to look at the Delkin battery charger, www.delkin.com (external link) . You buy it with plates specifically for the BP-511 batts and it charges 2 at a time. It's fairly small and quick. I use it instead of the charger that came with the camera. The charger with 2 charging plates for BP-511 batts is $43 plus shipping.

One nice feature about the Delkin is that there are also plates for other battery types, so if you have, say, a 40D, an XT, a PowerShot something and a couple of Speedlites you can get plates for all 4 battery types and charge any 2 at the same time.
