Aug 15, 2009 09:04 | #4 I don't feel like I ever get a real sharp picture of birds, flowers or anything else that is small. I don't know what else to do. Canon 40D; 50 f1.8, 70-200 f2.8 IS L, 580 EX II, 1.4 TC, 24-70 f2.8 L, (2) 430 EX II

DuaneN Cream of the Crop More info | Get closer....the closer you are, the less you have to crop the more detail is retained. I shoot most of my Hummingbirds at minimum focus distance which is around 11'....and I want to get closer then that but I need to get extension tubes for my lens.

canonloader Cream of the Crop More info | Aug 16, 2009 12:26 | #9 I kind of like the full frame shot. Especially the three or four step depth of view. Nice shot. Mitch- ____...^.^...____

Manual exposure may have worked better. If this is an area like your back yard get a chair and get closer, sit real still and wait for them. If you're afraid of failure ... you'll never succeed!
