Hey everyone;

This is my first Seven Exposure HDR and I really dont know how to feel about it, this is also a first from my 1DIII.

The image reflects what I saw that night as far as colors and brightness goes, the lighting was very harsh.

This wasnt a serious shoot and I had horrible lighting at the dealership but this is the only time that I can do anything without the sales reps crawling all over me or some drive through customer calling the cops on me because they think I am breaking into cars....

I have 3 alien bee 800's and a Vagabond II that I am going to take out tonight and try to get a good shoot of a Zinc Mach 1 they have park by itself out front :}

Converted in photomatix Pro III (If someone could help me with settings too that would be great.)

Final editing done in Photoshop.

C&C welcome :)

And I really wish they would wash these cars.... I am at this dealership at least once a week and they NEVER wash any of the cars!
It also would have been better had I been on its level and not a little up but I was hurried and thats why there is only 1 :P

seems like a 7 exposure HDR frame might be a bit much, and this isn't a fanatastic situation to be using for HDR anyhow. I can see a lot of tonal detail in the paint, but also a lot of color shift in the hood of the car, the levels on the hood of the car are wrong because of the HDR. also most of the dark areas of the car are still very dark.

i would suggest trying your HDR during the daytime when you are dealing with a different type of contrast. also, maybe use less frames (3 or 4) and do wider bracketing so you capture more of the shadow detail.

Thanks for the comments guys.

When I converted the HDR the image was very very dark and gray, I have never had an HDR do that to me before, but then again my only past HDR experiance has been sunlight and multi lighting points taken with my 40D.

I tried giving it a more "HDR" look in another edit but it was so much darker and grey.

As for the grasshopper, I decided to leave him there as I had just cloned out about 5 others on the car and figured maybe no one would nottice him because he was on the top of the car :P

I will try another HDR with different lighting later this week.

I would also like to try an HDR with my three AB800's but I am not really sure how to go about doing that, any tips on that would greatly be appreciated.
