Just about to push the button on purchasing these but in which order to get them, I want two off camera flashes and the transmitter on the camera. Do I get two Mini TTL units and one Flex Transceiver or the other way around? descriptions are a bit confusing..

Thanks

The Mini is Transmiter only. The Flex is a receiver and transmitter. Any off-camera flashes will need a Flex. The only real decision you have to make is whether to use a mini or a flex on-camera. I personally use Flex's for everything as they take AA batteries and the price difference is so small.

Thanks for the quick answer, if the flex takes AA I would be nearly better off using them and no minis.

Thanks

Take a look at the profile of each, there was a thread with pics of each on a camera(do a search). The mini is much smaller, sits on top of camera much nicer. Plus you will always need a transmitter on camera.

It's smaller but they're both the same height and both weigh very little. I'd planned to use the mini on camera until I actually tried the flex and found that the size really made no difference to me.

If the mini was substantially cheaper then it might be worth it but an extra £20 in the UK to get a transmitter and receiver over a transmitter alone just seems like much better value. PW tend to make everything backwards-compatible so in a few years time when their next model is out, the flexs will no-doubt still integrate as triggers for studio strobes and speedlites whereas the mini will be obsolete or at least superseded.
