Has sold it, or plans to sell it? What was / is your reason for wanting to sell it? Didn't like it? Decided to upgrade? Etc? If you upgraded, how long did you own the XS for before you sold it and what did you replace it with? Any other comments you would like to add?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I had an XSI and sold it after six months.
I didn`t care for the AF systems performance and felt the need to upgrade it.
I replaced it with a Nikon D90 and found it was a great choice. I have since replaced the D90 with a D700 FX full frame body.

If your stepping up I would recommend a FF like the 5DMKII. If your not committed to Canon by owning a bunch of lenses, then look at the Nikon camp too. The Nikon AF system is superior to Canons.bw!
Good luck with your search..

Do a search here, lots of satisfied owners - XSi, XTi, XS are great cameras (and better value and performance than Nikon ! )

Owned it for 4 months or so and sold it to upgrade to the 40D. I wanted better focusing points and a more solid body. Also, larger lenses like the 70-200 2.8L IS and even the Sigma 24-70 2.8 look kind of ridiculous on the small Rebel bodies even when I had the grip attached already.

The XS itself is a great starter camera. If you're thinking of upgrade paths already I insist you buy an XS over an XSi and put that saved money into better lenses.

Good luck!

The XS is a great camera, and I've had it for...about four months now?

I'd *like* to upgrade to a 40D body, but honestly, I would probably take the same quality pictures with both cameras. I'd say go for the XS.

I had one and played with it for a while. It was a great little cam. I really liked it. For a hobbyist, it's more than enough camera. It was never really mine though as I bought it as a donation for a local fund raiser. But I sure would love to have a little cam like that for non-paid recreational and vacation shooting.

I sold mine, because I read too much on the forum. Ended up with a 40D after about owning the XS for a month. I liked the overall feel and presense of the 40D more then the Rebel body. The controls make more sense on the 40D as well. Just recently upgraded from the 40D to the 5d Classic. I really like that move and plan on staying with the 5d, until I have a large disposal of money to purchase a 5d2. The classic is more then enough camera for me and my 17-40 is really wide on it too.
