while driving through the outskirts of Leavenworth, WA, on my way to do some shooting for a river rafting company, i came across these two blackies foraging in the brush alongside the road. looks like a mom and a juvenile "teen-age" young one... anyway, i coasted past and stopped about 20 yards down the road, and got out to snap some shots. they didn't seem at all concerned about my presence, and were in fact much more interested in the cyclists that were approaching from farther back in the direction i'd come from. a few seconds after i shot these, they disappeared back into the underbrush... 40D, 220mm, 1/100 @ f/8...

thanks. i was amazed to see them out in the open like this, with all the traffic, cyclists and joggers in the area... i guess they weren't terribly afraid of people...
