I'm taking a course to certify as a Minnesota Master Naturalist
. We have a series of field trips to attend and this past weekend we visited Interstate State Park
which has some really interesting geology. I've found the G10 to be such a great camera for situations like this where it's just not practical to bring the DLSR. Of course, being the middle of the day, the lighting isn't that great, but the G10 still does a fine job considering, even on full auto mode.
The park has the highest concentration of geological potholes in the world, which were drilled down into the basalt layer by glacial melt water. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area (just north of the Twin Cities, along the St. Croix River.)

Since I couldnt' get the railing and shadows out of view, I decided to make them part of the photo.
